About

Politics in Nigeria and other African countries are in dire need of a structural change. The status quo landscape of the practice of politics appears to be saturated in the results it can produce to support a healthy social contract with the people. Politics on the continent must be innovated, if Africa is to speed up the development ladder, tackle mass poverty and catch up with other prosperous regions of the world. Against this background, Obiageli Ezekwesili, a co-founder of Transparency International, proposes the #FixPolitics Initiative that will address the question as to how redefine democracy in Nigeria and Africa with an emphasis on empowering and centering citizens in their countries’ politics. This round table will convene experts from Nigeria, the U.S. and Europe.

The participation is by invitation only.
