About the event

Advances in data science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are giving rise to what is often described as the "fourth industrial revolution" or "industrial internet" where rapid improvements in productivity is expected in various industries. Less discussed, and pursued, is the impact of data science and AI in the non-economic sphere, particularly as they pertain to global issues. How can improvements in AI be used to tackle global issues, such as poverty, climate action, or global health? Which preconditions are needed to build efficient infrastructure in this field?

Together with our Richard von Weizsäcker Fellow James Kondo and Kenneth Cukier we will spend an interactive Lunch Talk discussing early examples of works in this area and examine potential areas of application.

Please note that the event will be held in English.
