How can we build partnerships across borders and divides? This question guides this year’s Festival of Ideas at the Robert Bosch Academy.

The festival opens the Academy’s Richard von Weizsäcker Forum, welcoming the public to the Robert Bosch Stiftung at Französische Straße 32 in Berlin. Academy Talks, panel discussions, and round tables offer opportunities to engage directly with international experts.

Under the theme Forging Partnerships and Building Alliances, join around 100 international leaders from politics, academia, culture, business, and civil society to challenge assumptions and explore cooperation across divides. We look forward to welcoming you.

The new Hour Zero: How does post-war Europe look?

The end of Russia's war against Ukraine – whenever and however it comes – will mark the beginning of a new chapter for Europe. The challenge will be not only to preserve the solidarity forged during the conflict, but also to translate it into a lasting vision for peace, security, and democratic resilience.

This session explores what "the day after" could mean for Europe. How can European solidarity underpin Ukraine's reconstruction, a renewed security architecture, and a more resilient continent? What role will the European Union, NATO, and transatlantic partnerships play in shaping the future? The discussion will also address one of the most difficult questions facing Europe: what place, if any, should Russia have in a post-war European order? Can lasting peace be achieved through continued isolation, or will future stability ultimately require new forms of engagement under clearly defined political, legal, and moral conditions?

The session will examine how Europe can build a just and durable peace while forging partnerships capable of meeting the challenges of an increasingly fragmented world.
