Bogi Eliasen

Bogi Eliasen is co-founder and Executive Director of the Movement Health Foundation (MHF), a Geneva-based non-profit that scales digital health and data-driven innovation to reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases (cancer, cardiometabolic, cardiovascular and chronic respiratory disease) across Latin America, Europe and Africa. MHF works to turn proven solutions into functioning, country-owned health ecosystems. It brings governments, multilateral institutions, foundations, companies, researchers and civil society together around earlier detection, secondary prevention and patient-held health data.

Born in the Faroe Islands, Bogi studied political science and international law at Aarhus University and executive education at Harvard Kennedy School. For more than 25 years he has advised political leaders, public institutions and businesses, including earlier roles with the Faroese business affairs and foreign affairs administrations. As Director of Health at the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies (CIFS), he worked on the future of genomics, data and digital health. He also contributed to WHO/Europe's Second European Programme of Work (2026–2030). He founded FarGen, the Faroese population genome project, and launched Nordic Health 2030 and Movement Health. In 2019 he received the HIMSS Future50 International Achievement Award.

Bogi co-chairs WHO's Strategic Partners' Initiative for Data and Digital Health and serves on the World Economic Forum's Strategic Advisory Group for Digital Healthcare Transformation, and contributes to the OECD's expert community on Data Free Flow with Trust. He also co-chairs the AI working group of the Nature Medicine Commission on Quality Health Information for All and is part of the Sciana Health Leader Network. His work centres on trust, data and dignity as the foundations of fairer, more preventive health systems.
