The Richard von Weizsäcker Forum was established in honor of the former Federal President, who served for many years on the Board of Trustees of the Robert Bosch Stiftung. Each fall, the community event brings together former, current and future Richard von Weizsäcker Fellows of the Robert Bosch Academy.

The Richard von Weizsäcker Forum 2017 took place in Berlin, Grimma, Leipzig, and Munich from 10 to 14 September 2017.
The former Chairman of the Robert Bosch Stiftung’s Board of Trustees Kurt W. Liedtke opened the Forum.
The Fellows were warmly welcomed by Sandra Breka, Member of the Robert Bosch Stiftung’s Board of Management.
The reception at the Berlin Representative Office provided space for the Fellows to get into conversation with each other.
The Forum was organized by the Robert Bosch Academy team (from left to right): Jannik Rust, Korbinian Bauer, Laura Strömpel, Louisa Frey and Madeleine Schneider.

The election campaign in Germany was an important topic during the meeting with the ARD television correspondent Matthias Deiß.
In Grimma, the Fellows met the city’s mayor Matthias Berger who provided insight into the challenges for rural areas in Saxony.
The Fellows visited the project "Village for Youth“ which aims to create prospects for young people in the rural area of Grimma.
Tobias Burdukat, head of the "Village for Youth“, told the Fellows about the achievements and difficulties of the project.
During a dinner in Leipzig, the Fellows met the Saxon State Minister for Gender Equality and Integration Petra Köpping who spoke about the challenges in the area of integration in Saxony.
The journalist Lilian Ikulument (left) also pointed out current challenges in the area of migration and integration in Germany while talking to the moderator Roland Preuss (right).
During a visit of the Maximilianeum in Munich, the Fellows met the Vice President of the Bavarian State Parliament Reinhold Bocklet; next to him Sandra Breka.
