About

There are widespread fears and anxieties about the weaknesses of the German economic model as unsuitable for the information age, and producing few hidden or visible German champions for the future. Recent media headlines confirm an oft-noted anxiety: German companies are not among the world’s biggest and most profitable enterprises. J.P. Singh, a professor specializing in culture and political economy, will address how economic beliefs and learning have evolved historically in Germany to then outline challenges in the German economy for staying ahead (or falling behind) the technology innovation and competitiveness frontiers.

The short lunch discussion with J.P. Singh and Moritz Koch will be followed by an open debate with the audience.
