Location: at the Berlin Representative Office, Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH Französische Straße 32, 10117 Berlin

The Robert Bosch Academy is proud to present the film “Dheepan”, directed by Jacques Audiard, and Winner of the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2015. The screening will be followed by a reception.

“Dheepan” tells the story of three Tamil refugees living in France who fled civil war-ravaged Sri Lanka and now hope to rebuild their lives. It impressively shows the refugees’ struggles as they begin a new life in an unknown country while coping with traumas experienced in their home country.

The event is part of a film series conceived as a tribute to the foundation’s long-term cooperation with Mirsad Purivatra, Director of the Sarajevo Film Festival. A Richard von Weizsäcker Fellow at the Robert Bosch Academy in September 2014, the Academy is pleased to welcome him back for his second residency.

The event will be held in English.
